MF subscriptions are intended for single user accounts, but if you are using the Platform through a business, organization, educational institution or affiliate the terms and conditions of this Agreement still applies. Collection of Your Personal Information
We collect information as part of operating our Platform and the Services.
In connection with the creation and maintenance of an Account, we may ask you to provide personal information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address, telephone number, etc. We may also ask for demographic information, such as your zip code, age, sex, preferences, interests, or profession.
In order to access the Platform, you will be asked to sign in to your Account with an e-mail address and password. You are solely responsible for keeping your password confidential. By signing in on the Platform, you will be able to access all components of the Platform and Services: including Forums, history, blog, user group discussion, community forums, chat information, message boards and download website(s). We may also ask users for information about how you use the Platform and Services.
We use technologies, such as cookies and web beacons (described below), to collect information about the webpages users view, the links users click, and other actions users take on the Platform.
We also collect additional information about users’ interactions with the Platform and Services without identifying users as individuals. For example, we receive certain standard information that a user’s browser sends to every website for a user’s visit, such as browser type, IP address, browser language, and access times. We also use website analytics tools on the Platform to retrieve information from a user’s browser, including the site the user came from, the search engine(s) and the keywords users used to find our site, the web pages users viewed, user browser plug-ins, and user browser’s set width and height. In addition, certain non-personal information regarding users is recorded by the standard operation of internet servers hosting the Platform. This information is primarily used to provide users of the Platform with an enhanced online experience. As set forth below, MF may disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe the Platform or Services to prospective partners, investors, and agents, and for other lawful purposes. This information better provides us with aggregate data that we use to improve the Platform and the Services.
Purpose of Data Collection
MF requests personal information for purposes such as the provision of customer service and support, billing, network management, sales management, technical support, user memberships, event registration and other exchanges of information.
Additionally, in connection with the establishment of an Account, you may be required to provide certain information to a third-party payment processor (collectively “Third Party Processor”), including but not limited to credit card or other financial account information, and your billing address (collectively referred to herein as “Processor Information”). We are not liable for any harm or damages related to the Processor Information, or any other transactions made with or information given in connection with the Third Party Processor. You should direct any complaints, claims, concerns, or questions regarding the Processor Information to the Third Party Processor.
Use of the Data Collected
We also use personal information to communicate with users. We may send certain mandatory service communications such as welcome letters, billing reminders, information on technical service issues, and security announcements. Additionally, with user’s permission, we may also occasionally send users product surveys or promotional mailings to inform users of other products or services available from the RR and its affiliates. Users can opt-out from receiving this information at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any communication, or by following the steps as described in the respective e-mails.
Aggregated Personal Information
In an ongoing effort to better understand and serve the users of the Services, we may gather customer demographics, interests and behavior based on the personal information and other information provided to us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis, and we may share this aggregate data with its affiliates, agents and business partners. We may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
We also utilize other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including but not limited to customer support, web analytics, video streaming, coordination of mailings, and event management, etc. These companies are permitted to access only the information they require to perform those services. We require these companies to maintain the confidentiality of any personal information and prohibit them from using the information for any other purpose than the purpose for which it was provided.
Personal information collected on the Platform or in connection with the Services may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which we or our service providers maintain facilities. Access to the Data Collected
We offer users the ability to correct or change the information collected during Account registration. Users may change this information at any time and as often as necessary by choosing the “Account” option in “Settings” or other similar functionality offered on the MF registration web pages. Collection and Use of Children’s Personal Information
We are committed to protecting the security of users’ personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect users’ personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
For example, we store the personal information we collect on computer systems and servers with limited access, which are located in secure controlled facilities. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as a credit card numbers or passwords) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
The Platform uses “cookies,” which are small text files placed on your hard disk by a web server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to store user preferences and other information on your computer in order to save user time by eliminating the need to repeatedly enter the same information and to display your identity, personalized content, preferences, and interests as related to the Platform and Services.
Users have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but users can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies. If user chooses to decline cookies, user may not be able to sign in or use other interactive features of the Platform and Services.
Use of Web Beacons
The MF web pages may contain electronic images known as ‘Web Beacons’, or sometimes called ‘single-pixel gifs’, that may be used to assist in delivering cookies on our sites and allow us to count users who have visited those pages. We may include web beacons in informational e-mail messages in order to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon.
MF may also employ Web Beacons from third parties in order to help us compile aggregated statistics regarding the effectiveness of the operations of our sites. We prohibit Web Beacons on our sites from being used by third parties to collect or access your personal information.
